After falling in love with rivers over 30 years ago, Joe and Fran started Wilderness River Outfitters in 1971 to offer people not only an adventure into the pristine wilderness, but a unique personal experience as well. Today, WRO is still committed to providing the highest quality adventures with all the right ingredients. We believe in smaller trips, a relaxed atmosphere, professional guides, new and exciting challenges, diverse and flexible activities, and a commitment to
safety. Participation in every aspect of the trip is encouraged and welcomed, but always optional. It’s your trip and we are there to help you explore, appreciate, and enjoy every aspect of the environment that surrounds us. Whether you’d like to try dutch-oven cooking, rappelling, hiking to the top of a ridge, relaxing on the beach, or paddling whitewater we’ll make it the best experience we can. You come as strangers and leave as friends.
