Day before the trip: Arrive in Stanley, Idaho the day before the trip. We’ll get together in the evening to distribute dry bags, answer last minute questions and go over any last minute details.
Day 1: We’ll depart around 8AM and have a 2-hour drive to the Boundary Creek launch site. After a safety talk and orientation we’ll begin our journey.
*August 20 and August 28 trips will launch from Indian Creek, 22 miles down river from Boundary Creek. The only access to this site is by plane. Our flights will leave from Stanley at around 8AM. There is a $75 charge for the flight.
Day 2-5: We’ll be relaxing, running rapids, fishing, hiking, soaking in hot springs, exploring historic sites, and anything else you can come up with. Our schedule is flexible so we can customize the trip to your interests.
Day 6: We’ll arrive the confluence of the Main and Middle Fork of the Salmon River and continue on our journey down the Main Salmon River. We’ll stop at Corn Creek briefly to re-supply and pick up additional passengers traveling with us on the Main.
Day 7-10: The Main Salmon River is a little warmer that the Middle Fork, perfect for swimming. It also has homesteads to explore, the exceptional Barth hot springs, great hikes and we even offer some optional rock climbing and rappelling sessions on this stretch of the river.
Day 11: We’ll have a quite float with one or two good rapids, eat lunch on the river and then on to the take out. We provide van transportation to McCall, Idaho and a short flight from McCall to Boise.
*August trips: Trips in August will fly directly from an airstrip on the river to Boise. The flight will leave the river mid-morning on the last day.
